GAMES YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH YOUTH GROUPS
(but sometimes you really really WISH you could)
VOLUME 4
Chapter 6: Smack You On The Head Games
Overhand Croquet:
You Will Need
* Sun-Visors or Elastic Bands. (One for each member of the team.)
* Traditional croquet balls and wickets
* Masking tape or field chalk.
You don’t need Croquet Mallets
To Play:
If playing indoors use the masking tape and mark off three foot circles in the traditional set up for croquet.
If outdoors use the filed chalk. (You can also use sidewalk chalk if you have a large EMPTY parking lot)
Have team one stand in the respective “Wicket” circles.
Each team member is to place the sun visor or elastic band around their head. The wicket should fit snugly behind the ears leaving enough room between the top of the head and the wicket for the ball to pass through.
The team in the field are allowed to move anyway they want as long as they stay within the circle.
Team two is must then try to throw the ball through the wickets.
If the “wicket” dodges the ball the turn is over. If the ball passes through the wicket the throwing player may take another turn. The team to complete the entire course in the fewest number of turns is the winner.
There are no “end posts” in this game and the traditional “two wicket” set up is for advanced playing.
Keep band aids and ice packs on hand.
(kidding! I'm kidding! Sheesh)
